DEE (born Genevieve Monica Quinn) KLEIN
Nov. 19, 1934 - Aug. 7, 2020
Pleasanton, Madera, Paradise, California

Dee Klein EA, (born Genevieve Monica Quinn) has passed away at the age of 85, on Friday, the 7th of August, 2020. She died peacefully in her home in Manteca California, surrounded by loving family members.

Dee was born in Vallejo, California to Evelyn Cecilia Barcroft Quinn-Craig, RN and Dr. Edward Morgan Quinn, MD. Her early years were spent in Watsonville and Madera. In 1954, she was married to her husband, Lieutenant Donald Louis Klein in Monterey, CA before relocating to Southern California where the couple had three children. The family moved to Pleasanton in 1967 and in later years, Dee eventually made her home up in Paradise, CA where she enjoyed her businesses, gardening and home life up until November of 2018.

During her professional years Dee remained active in her private practices of bookkeeping, tax preparation, real estate and mortgage brokering. After starting the Alligator Tax Service in Pleasanton, she moved her offices to Dublin in the 80's and 90's and eventually formed and operated Abode Realty in Paradise, CA, over the years serving in several professional associations such as the California Society of Enrolled Agents and others.

A woman of varied talents and interests, Dee loved the artistic and she became proficient at many types of crafts, including interior decorating, upholstery, antique and home restorations, always looking for and loving "fixer upper" homes … and eventually opening her own Gift Shop called A Butterfly's Dream in Paradise, California.

Always ready to enjoy friendships, both new and old, Dee loved to follow the callings of her heart. Two of her favorite interests included astronomy and especially aviation. She was fascinated by the flying machines of all ages and pursued her dreams by obtaining her private pilot's license in the 1970's. After that, the sky was the limit for Dee, who enjoyed soaring in her Cessna into new vistas in realms above the clouds.

Dee is survived by her two adult daughters Karol Klein Dickerson and Clare Joslin (both married), her granddaughters Christina Keil and Shanaya Joslin, grandson Richard Dickerson, and three precious great grandchildren of Andrew Kenneth Dadula Keil and Christina Keil, besides the daughters' husbands Jay Dickerson and Michael Joslin, and extended members of the Keil family, as in-laws.

Because of current social and travel restrictions, a small family burial was held at The Pioneer Cemetery in Pleasanton, California, on the 21st of January, 2021. Dee was laid to rest next to her son Richard Louis Klein, overlooking the hills of Pleasanton and Sunol. If you would like information on visiting at her specific location, please make contact with the family through the Graham Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton, California.
