He was born September 16, 1939, to Melvin and Juanita (Tindall) York, Sr. Melvin graduated high school in Higginsville, Mo., and served in the Army Air Corps. He owned and operated three businesses, Envirostar Waste Service, K.C. Hook and DPF. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, target practice and working with wood. He married Maureen Dorothy Klipfel on November 24, 1995, in St. Charles, Mo.
In addition to Maureen, survivors include four children, Dawn, Kelly, Josh and Ben; two step children, Dan and Joe; and several dearly loved grandchildren, extended family and friends.
The Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. today, June 21, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St., Blue Springs, 816-229-3276, where the family will receive friends until 7 p.m. A graveside service and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Blue Springs Cemetery.
