Michael Lee Cherry, 34, died Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be at a later date in Manning, South Carolina, near his mother. Please wear a mask and respect social distancing practices.

Michael was born December 20, 1986, the son of Etrice Cherry and Felicia (Martin) Shorter. He grew up in PG County, Maryland & Sumter, South Carolina. Michael moved to Iowa City six years ago.

Michael was employed by Sedgwick and Domino’s Pizza. He enjoyed time spent with friends, playing video games, Anime, and had a love for cats.

Michael is survived by his father, Etrice, and his siblings, Monica Duckett, Theron Shorter, Snovia Shorter, Nakeitha Anyamele-Latney, Alex Cherry, and Chiya Cherry.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother Felicia (Martin) Shorter, and his sister, Shanae Cherry.
