Carol S. McCormick, 82, of Evansville passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021. She was born March 21, 1938 in Olney, IL to the late Glenn and Hazel (Brown) Cross.

She graduated from Central High School. Carol was a supervisor at Deaconess Downtown and a baker at Deaconess Gateway for a combined total of 50 years. She also worked at Donut Bank on Green River Rd. in 2015. She was a talented baker and cook who made the most delicious cakes ever. She also loved painting, quilting, reading and taking care of her family.

Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Dale Cross, and sister, Billie Canfield.

She is survived by children, Cheryl (McCormick) Irby and Bryan McCormick; grandchildren, Matthew McCormick, Rayna Irby and Keylee Benson (Steven); great-grandchildren, Bryson Benson, Kaiden Benson and Jaxon McCormick, and sisters, Dixie Deer and Alice Klotz.

A Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2021 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Pastor Andy Scheller, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Published in Courier Press from Feb. 2, to Feb. 3, 2021.
