Beverly Dean (Maughan) Moore, 93, returned to her heavenly home, peacefully and quietly, whilst her family surrounded her.

Beverly was born in Hyrum, Utah on 17 August 1927, to Alton Parkinson and Edith Chloe (Hall) Maughan. She was the eldest of their two daughters who was devoted and cherished. Beverly attended Salt Lake City schools and graduated from South High, Class of 1944, where she was proficient in academics, acting and languages.

Beverly married Val C. Moore in the Salt Lake temple on Flag Day, 14 June 1946. It is impossible to imagine a more loving, loyal or supportive companion. She joined the Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII because she liked how she looked in the uniform. She also worked as a nurse for a local physician for a few years before she and Val began their family. Eventually, their marriage was blessed with nine children, six sons and three daughters.

Beverly was very proud of her children's accomplishments and that all are active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were married in the temple and had earned college degrees. She was further proud that all six of her sons had earned their Eagle rank in the Boy Scouts and that they and one of her daughters had served honorable, full-time church missions.

Beverly, herself, also contributed much to her family. Through her hard work and dedication, she showered them all with her love and support.

She also remained active in the Church and served as a teacher in the Scouting, Sunday School, Genealogy, and Primary programs and a missionary in the extraction program and full-time in New Zealand. She was involved in Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and, as a lifetime member, had served as president of her chapter. She was so proud of her pioneer heritage!

In her spare time, Beverly liked to garden, do genealogy, sew, and travel. She was an extrovert who developed many cherished friendships all over the world. She eagerly opened her heart and home to all and was beloved by her husband, children and people in all corners of the world.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Val Moore (2005) and their son, Patrick Kay Moore (2011).

Left to cherish her memory are Beverly's sister, Coy Weiner, of Houston, Texas; children, Cameron (Lori) Moore; Colin (Leisa) Moore; Daniel (Jamie) Moore; Kevin (Kathy) Moore; Lynette Greeson; Mitchell (Deborah) Moore; Shauna (Terry) Hepworth; and Terri (Mike) Nelson; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Beverly's family expresses their sincere gratitude for the compassionate care and exceptional service given her over the past years as her health and strength failed. Faithful family members and friends of the Mount Olympus 5th Ward were recognized frequently by Beverly, who held a deep and constant love for them from years of association.

Private services will be held on 4 February 2021.
