Billy Allmon Arnold
October 1, 1927 - February 1, 2021

Billy Arnold, age 93, of Fayetteville, Georgia passed away on February 1, 2021. He was born to the late John David and Ruth Eberhardt Arnold on October 1, 1927 in Spalding County and later raised in Thomaston, Georgia. Billy was married to the late Mildred Littleton Blankenship Arnold in 1967. They were happily married for 46 years until her untimely death in 2013.
He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, then attended Middle Georgia and Georgia Tech. He served in the military, stationed in Germany, and fought in the Korean War. Billy was a Master Mason for 50+ years.
He loved his church family being a long-time member of College Park First Methodist Church and later Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Billy was an avid sports fan and loved watching his Atlanta Braves along with rooting on his college teams. He was known for fussing at the TV on several occasions when things were not going his way. Billy loved watching old movies (with the volume up high), reading at least two books a week, and telling stories of his past, especially his fishing trips with the gang at Concrete Supple. The beaches of Panama City were his favorite vacation spot along with the casinos in Biloxi, Mississippi.
He was employed at Silvertown Pharmacy, Silvertown Movie Theater in his younger years, business owner and until his retirement, he was employed at Concrete Supply in Fayetteville, Georgia for over 23 years.
Billy Arnold is survived by his daughter, Paula Blankenship Ward (Steve); granddaughters, Christy Ward O’Neal of McDonough, Georgia and Jennifer Ward of Nashville, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Alexis and Dylan O’Neal of McDonough, Georgia and Parker Chinn of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, Jackie Arnold (Bessie) of Thomaston, Georgia; along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife; his parents; one brother; and six sisters.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Gardens of Fayetteville for their love, kindness, and support given to our Dad. Also, to his “Other Family” at Concrete Supply that have remained devoted and loving to our family.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
