David is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Irene E. Simpson, and their two sons Roland C. (Andy) Simpson of Missouri City, TX and Jonathon David Simpson of Jacksonville, NC. Along with their wives, Traci and Tina respectively and 8 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
David’s education included a B.A. in Radio & Television and an M.A. in Mass Communications. David married Irene E. Reed whom he met at roller rink in Minot, ND, on Father’s day in 1966. They were married on June 11, 1967. He served in the Air Force as enlisted and went on to become an officer. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he went into cable television working his way up from a tech to building the cable television headends.
After moving around a lot - over 30 moves - due to his Air Force life and work in cable TV, they finally settled in Ocklawaha, FL. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Forest Assembly of God in Silver Springs, FL. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
