NEGAUNEE, MI - Shirley Ann Watters, 76, formerly of Gold St., Negaunee, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Shirley was born March 30, 1941 in Sault St. Marie, Michigan to Gordon and Lee (Anderson) Cameron, grew up in Negaunee and Marquette and was a lifelong area resident. She was employed as a housekeeper at Morgan Heights Sanatorium for many years and also worked at the Negaunee Senior Citizens Center. She earned her GED from 'Hartman High' in Ishpeming in 2009.
Shirley was a member of the Negaunee Eagle's Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed candle making, dancing, going for walks, and knitting and crocheting. She was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Red Wings.
Surviving are her daughter, Sherry Lynn Watters of Negaunee; her sister, Sharon Hickey of Marquette; and her niece and nephew, Jackie and Derek.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eugene Raymond Watters in 1989; an infant granddaughter, Cynthia Lynn Watters in 1986; and her brother-in-law, David Hickey.
