Sally married Gerald “Gerry” Meyer in August 1968. They had two children, Jill and Justin “JJ”. In March 1988, she married William “Bill” Johnson. He preceded her in death just last April after 32 years of marriage. Sally was a caring mother, Nonnie and friend to many. She leaves a huge hole in our hearts.
She worked for Century21 almost 30 years in McHenry and enjoyed going to breakfast with her “work girls”…the last breakfast being just a few weeks ago. She also enjoyed vacationing with her sister, Susie, and her husband, Joe. Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco being at the top of their favorite places to visit. Above all, she cherished her family and the time she got to spend with her children and grandchildren. Her smile was contagious and would light up the room.
She is survived by her children, Jill (Matthew) Feetterer and JJ (Katie Gehrman) Meyer; step children, Paula (Christopher) Easton, Todd (Judy) Johnson, Jamie Sue Johnson, Lee Ellen Johnson and Brian (Sumac) Johnson; grandchildren, Samantha and Sydney Feetterer, Ella Gehrman, Ava Gehrman-Thompson, Aaron Easton, Jenifer (Jaryd) O’Brasky, Katrina Werle, Kendall Johnson, and Ayla (Cameron) MacDiarmid. She is further survived by her sister, Sue (Joe) Kohler and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Bill, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Pansy Thorson and her brother, Terry.
A time of visitation will be Friday, February 5, from 11am until the time of a service at 2pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family as they will be making a large contribution to a charity (undecided on which one at this time) in honor of Sally.
