Samuel Davis, Jr. was born August 4, 1948 and passed away January 27, 2021. He graduated Douglas Anderson High School, class of 1966. He attended Florida Junior College and Jones College specializing in Broadcasting.

Sam served in the US Army in Vietnam. Employed at First Coast News Channel 12 for 36 years retiring as an engineer. Sam was President of the Douglas Anderson High School Alumni Assoc. and a member of the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts Foundation Board. Sam was a member of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church with Bishop Rudolph McKissick, Jr. Pastor.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 44 years, Melody Davis, son, Darron Davis, two granddaughters, and sister Bobbie Brooks.

Homegoing services will be held Thurs., Feb. 4, 2021, 9:00am. at The Bethel Church, 215 Bethel Baptist St. Interment will be in the Jacksonville National Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 adherence to CDC Mandate utilized. Services will be streamed live via The Bethel Experience Face Book and YouTube. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Douglas Anderson Alumni Assoc., Samuel Davis, Jr. Scholarship Fund Post Office Box 5583,Jacksonville 32247-5583.
