Jean Martin of Troutman, formerly of Mooresville, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021.
She was born on December 16, 1943 in Wilmington, NC, to the late Clyde and Marie Allen Towell. Jean was retired from the library at Davidson College. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Mooresville. She loved her family and enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother. Jean was passionate about genealogy and researching her family’s history.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Cline.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John William Martin; children, Lori Christy, Brian Martin (Karey), Susan Stutts (Derrick); and grandchildren, Tanner, Drew, and Carly Benfield, Audrey Martin, Will and Raegan Stutts.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 3 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday from Berea Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Sparrow officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
