Douglas entered this life on December 12, 1968 in Carthage, Missouri. He was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. He was a lifelong area resident. He was united in marriage to Melissa Hamsher on December 16, 2010 in Carthage, Missouri. Douglas was a Christian by faith. He was a volunteer EMT as well as a firefighter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. He will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Vernon L. Sanders, Sr.; and several aunts and uncles.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Melissa, of the home; mother, Mona Sanders, of Sarcoxie; siblings, Vernon Lee Sanders, Jr., Martha Rhymer and husband, Mark and Marlene Sanders, all of Sarcoxie and Joyce Hull and husband, John, of Republic; niece and nephews, Frances Shirley, Daniel Rhymer, Austin Rhymer, Mason Hull and Izaiah Hull; several other nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Sarcoxie Cemetery with Pastor Don Sullivan officiating.
