JOHN McKINNEY JR.
August 30, 1929 ~ January 30, 2021

John McKinney, Jr. age 91, of Broken Bow, OK, entered his heaven home, January 31, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born August 30, 1929, to John McKinney, Sr. and Mulsey (Sampson) McKinney, in Goodwater, OK.

He and Julia Mae Billy were united in marriage, October 3, 1959, in Broken Bow, OK, they enjoyed 61 years together before his passing.

John enjoyed fishing, camping out, and sitting around a campfire telling stories. He also enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, play their various sports. He was born an Idabel Warrior, but was a true Broken Bow Savage.

John was good at fixing appliances and other things around the house. He always looked forward to family get-togethers. John loved singing and ministering to others. He was a member, Elder, and Worship Leader at the Oka Achukma Presbyterian Church. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Mulsey McKinney; son, Alan Dean McKinney; son-in-law, Willard Frazier; brothers, Silas McKinney, Sr., William McKinney, and Raymond McKinney; sister, Esther Stuckey; infant sister, Clara; great-great granddaughter, Kynzlie Wells.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Julia McKinney, of the home; two sons, Lyndon Karl McKinney and wife, Janis, of Watson, OK, Ron McKinney and wife, Danelle, of Lawrence, KS; three daughters, Sandra Frazier, Carla Sanders, and Marissa Baker and husband, Patrick, all of Broken Bow, OK;

Three sisters, Carolyn Marie Blair, of Midwest City, OK, Manda Brown, of Idabel, OK, and Ida Haddock and husband, James, of Idabel, OK;

18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; 1 soon-to-be great-great grandchildren; special cousins, Elsie Hicks, Meredith Billy, and April Billy; special friend, Rev. Gene Wilson; as well as, many other family and friends.

The family requests that all funeral attendees wear a face mask.

Graveside services for John will be, 2:00PM, Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Oka Achukma Cemetery, with Rev. Ron McKinney and Elder Cleland Willis officiating.
