J.A. Steele, 73, of 2150 W. Walker St., died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tuesday at 7 a.m. He was a retired fender and body mechanic.
Born at Randolph, Fannin County, May 3, 1888, he was a son of W.Y. and Alma (Clevener) Steele. He lived for a long time in Kansas City, Kan., before coming to Paris 38 years ago. He had married Miss Quilla Curtis here in 1910, her death occurring July 3, 1942.
He leaves these children: Miss Aileen Steele, Paris, Mrs. Henry A. Wilkerson, Tyler; and James Leon Steele, North Highland, Calif.; 24 other descendants.
