Bernice was born April 30, 1930 to Jacob and Anna Schmidt in Beiseker, Alberta, Canada and passed away January 30, 2021 at home in Nampa, Idaho.

She grew up on the farm and received her schooling in Alberta. She furthered her education at NNU in Nampa where she met the love of her life, Jim Wolstenholm. They married August 1950 in Calgary, Alberta, a union that lasted almost 50 years until Jim’s passing in 2000. She joined him in pastoral ministry in the Church of the Nazarene, taking them to Canada, the U.S. and Central America.

Their home was blessed with four children who survive her: Lavon (Bob), Jim (Carol), Randy (Cindy) and Jill (Dan). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In 2002 she met and subsequently married Byron Clark. They were happily married for 16 years before Byron’s passing in 2018. He, too, had been a pastor and they enjoyed ministry together in their local church. Bernice opened her heart to his three children: Lauren (Patti), Daren (Cheryl) and Rocky (Dani), eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
