Kempton-- William E. “Bill” Malone, 87, Kempton, died peacefully Sunday afternoon January 31, 2021 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Pontiac.

Bill was born Feb. 15, 1933, in Kempton a son of William T. and Vera (Amsler) Malone. He married Raelene Bohm on July 15, 1953, in Pontiac. She preceded him in death on December 5, 2009 after 56 years of loving marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Marilyn Gualandi, Doris Boundy, Donald Malone and Carol Malone.
He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956. He returned to Kempton and worked for Warmbir trucking until 1967. In 1967 he started his own trucking business, William Malone Trucking, which he operated until his retirement in 2001. Bill was always a civic minded person serving on many boards throughout his lifetime; Tri-Point School Board, Kempton Methodist Church boards, a member of the Olson, Bute, Malone American Legion, a lifetime member of the Kempton Fire Department last serving as a Trustee, he was also the clerk for Mona Township for close to 40 years. Although Bill lived the last couple of year in Pontiac, he always considers Kempton “Little Town Big Heart” as home. He was also so proud to live in Ford County, “You know that strange shaped county.”
Bill was a loving, supportive husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a supporter of all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren interests rarely missing a sporting event or even a pee wee livestock show. If not present he wanted a full accounting of the event.
He is survived by three daughters; Debra (Frank) Howard-Ornelas, Mesa AZ; Deanna (Reed) Myer, Denver CO; and Dona (Dean) Tharp, Cullom; five grandchildren Tony (Ginger) Howard, Jared (Amy) Howard, Will (Beth) Myer, Morgan (Daniel) Mackinson and Jordan Tharp; four great-grandchildren, Elissa and Quin Howard, Reagan and Rowan Mackinson and a new baby on the way. Also surviving are two sisters, Donna Liska and Sherry Starr; one brother-in-law Robert (Darlene) Bohm who was raised in the Malone home during his High School years; three sister-in-law, Bernice Malone, Judy Bohm and Phyllis Bohm. Also surviving are several niece and nephews whom he was very proud of.
