Kenly-Dennis W. Edwards, 73, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Johnston County on February 7, 1947, he was the son of Irene Edwards Wall and the late Herschel D. Edwards.

Dennis proudly served his country in the United State Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a brick mason and later as a supervisor with Siemens. Dennis was a 23 year cancer survivor. He was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church where he served in various capacities, including youth leader, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, and sang in the church choir.

A private service to celebrate Dennis' life will be held for the immediate family at the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Lloyd Hargis officiating.

In addition to his mother, Dennis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eloise Bailey Edwards; his daughters and their spouses, Christy E. and Robbie Galloway, Dana E. and Eric Boyette, and Robyn E. and Chris Mitchell; grandchildren, Courtney Galloway, Ty Galloway, Jay Boyette, Morgan Boyette, Nicole Currie, and Davis Mitchell; siblings, Ken Edwards, Diane Gurley, and Sherry Munden; and several nieces and nephews.
