Born February 8, 1950, in New Castle, Indiana, he was a son of Wendell Alfred York and Juanita M. Taylor York.
Michael worked at the Henry County Highway Department for five years and for Wayne Trucking Company for 15 years. He was an avid fisherman, involved in BFL All American, FLW Top 8 in Lake Monroe, Muncie Bass Busters Club, and qualified for Bass Masters State Tournament. He was fond of his fishing buddies which there are just too many to mention.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy A. Bailey York; daughter, Casey York; granddaughter, Sara Winchester; sisters, Donna York and Connie York; his brother, Gary Eugene York; and his brother-in-law, Jim Bailey.
Surviving are his three daughters; one son; nine grandchildren; one step-child, Chase Cochran; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers; a brother-in-law; an aunt; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2021, at the funeral home, with Reverend Brett Rains officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
