NEWTON FALLS — Matthew W. Montgomery, age 61, entered into eternal rest Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at his home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 21, 1959, in Grove City, Pa., the son of Donald and Evelyn Montgomery, and moved to Ohio in 1989.
Matt worked 31 years as a sander at Kraftmaid. He liked to watch WWF wrestling, was a big fan of car shows, and enjoyed building model cars, in addition to fishing and hunting.
He is sadly missed by his loving wife of nearly 29 years, Martha Woodyard Montgomery, whom he married June 27, 1992; two sons, Roy and Lee Montgomery, both of Newton Falls; four sisters, Debbie (Alan) Thomas of Florida, Linda (Bob) Flynn of Pennsylvania, Rhonda Van Dyke of Cortland and Wendy (Richard) Bortz of Sandy Lake, Pa.; three brothers, Dennis of Sandy Lake, Brian of Stoneboro, Pa., and Curtis Montgomery of Pennsylvania; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families who loved him.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Donald and Evelyn Montgomery; and one sister, Judy Rose.
Services are 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, with Pastor Boyd Smith officiating. Friends may call 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Masks are required, and social distancing practices will be observed.
Interment will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, in Mt. Irwin Cemetery in Kennerdell, Pa.
