William Volley Hodges, 89, of Amarillo died Saturday, May 21, 2005.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Hodges was born in Maude, Okla. He served in the Navy during World War II. Volley lived and farmed in the Lazbuddie and Friona communities for more than 50 years. For the previous 6 years, he had lived in Amarillo.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Wilma, on Jan. 1, 2005; a daughter, Tommie Walters; and five sisters.
Survivors include a son, Larry Hodges of Farmington, Ark.; a daughter, Linda Sofijczuk of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Hank Walters, DeeDee Deeter, Stacie Whatley, Lance Frazier, Gary Hodges and Eddie Joe Hodges; 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters; and two brothers.
The family will be at 1300 Westcliff Parkway No. 22 in Amarillo.
