The funeral service will be held from the residence at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, Rev. Van Wagner officiating, and the interment will be at the Salem burial ground, six miles east of Sedalia.
Dr. Conkwright was a son of the late Dr. A. H. Conkwright and was born Aug. 2nd, 1869, at Pleasant Green, Mo., at the residence of his grandfather Judge A. S. Walker. He graduated with honors from Kemper Military Academy, Boonville, tying with a classmate for Valedictorian. He attended the literary department of Vanderbilt University at Nashville, Tenn., and graduated from the medical department of the same, taking a special course of instruction under the eminent specialist, Dr. Meness, of Nashville. Dr. Conkwright afterward graduated with honor from the Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Pa.
The doctor was an all-round athlete in his college days, winning first prize, a gold medal, for the 100 yard dash in the field trials at Vanderbilt University while there, in which all the principal colleges in the south were represented.
He was married to Miss Jessie E. Wilson seven years ago and leaves a wife and three children, viz: Adelaide, aged 6; A. H., aged 4, and little Sidney G., aged 4 months. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. J. G. Cox, who lives near Clifton City, in this country, besides numerous relatives and friends. Dr. Conkwright was deservedly popular with all who had the honor of his acquaintance, and throughout Pettis and Cooper counties his demise will be learned of with sorrow.
