The Chickasha Daily Express, Chickasha, OK, Thurs., May 8, 1947, p. 2 (Newspapers.com image 715185477):
"Walter P. McDaniel, 64, died Wednesday at the home of his sister, Mrs. H. L. Johnson, in Rush Springs. He was born in Hill County, Texas.
Funeral services were to be held at 3 p.m. today in the Baptist church at Rush Springs with Rev. Mr. Lindsay of Cox City officiating. Burial will be in Rush Springs cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral home.
Survivors include five sons, Ted, Boyd, Cecil, J. B. and Ben, all of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Pitts of Oklahoma City; two brothers, C. E. of Cox City and Harve of Quanah, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Kate DeVall of Quanah and Mrs. Johnson of rush Springs."
