Homegoing Celebrations for Cynthia (Loragaye) Phillips will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in the Flatwoods United Pentecostal Church, 2255 LA 8, Flatwoods, Louisiana 71427 with Reverends Rodney Vinzant, Mark Phillips and Douglas McManus officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Mora Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Cynthia, 49, of Mora, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 29, 2021 in the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was born March 3, 1971 in Albany, Georgia to the union of N.W. Luman and Olean Lagrone Luman.

In 1990, she graduated from Northwood High School. She was a member of Flatwoods United Pentecostal Church in which she played the piano and taught Sunday school for many years. At an early age, she received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Cynthia was a witness and won many souls to God, she was one of God’s greatest witnesses.
Spending time with her nieces and nephews were some of her most enjoyable pastimes. They loved her cooking such as: chicken and dumplings, which was always a hit at family gatherings, fried backstrap and biscuits during deer hunting season. Cynthia enjoyed her fur baby, Santanna.

She is preceded in death by her parents, N.W. and Olean Luman; and sister, Angela Hill.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are: her loving husband of 32 years, Allen Phillips of Mora; three brothers, Ronnie Luman of Nacogdoches,Texas, Terry Luman of Palestine, Texas and Edward “Bud” Luman of Carthage, Texas; two sisters, Lora Taylor and Rosa Brownlee both of Carthage, Texas; along with a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Steven Phillips, Lester Guin, Caleb Guin, Wesley Brownlee, Anthony Brownlee and Bryan Brownlee.

Honorary pallbearers to serve will be John Phillips, Bud Luman, Douglas Phillips, Thomas Theall and Carter John Rowell.

Visitation will be held in the Flatwoods United Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 8 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
