Spc. Frank Cady of Sacramento, California graduated with honors from Sacramento's Visions Charter High School where he was always a top student and winning a prestigious Presidential Academic Achievement Award in the sixth grade that was signed by President Clinton. He was considered a "kid genius" by many and could have done almost anything with his life. But Frank's dream was to use in intelligence in the military, so after graduation in 2005 he joined the Army. This wasn't a whim decision. Frank knew as a young boy that he wanted to serve after asking about the Persian Gulf War. Then the September 11 events made him more determined to serve. The Dallas Cowboy fan enjoyed playing football with his large family. He also loved swimming and camping. One of his favorite quotes was, "Scars heal, glory fades, life is short so go on and live it." This was his first deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Frank died in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained during a vehicle roll-over at age 20.

Inscription

I was that which others did not want to be.

I went where others fear to go, I did what others failed to do

I ask nothing from those who gave nothing and reluctantly accepted

the thought of eternal loneliness...should I fail.

I have seen the face of terror, felt the stinging cold of fear and
felt and enjoyed sweet tastes of a moments love.

I have cried, pained and hopped

but most of all, I have lived times others would say are best
forgotten at least one day I will be able to say I was proud of what I
was
