MR.DUFF ENLISTED IN 1942; COMMISSIONED AS A 2ND LIEUTENANT AFTER COMPLETING FLIGHT TRAINING, WHICH INCLUDED 75 HOURS IN THE T-6 TEXAN, KNOWN AS THE 'PILOT MAKER'. IN COMBAT, FLEW THE BOEING B-17 'FLYING FORTRESS' WITH THE 482ND BOMB GROUP OF THE 'MIGHTY EIGHTH' AIR FORCE. STATIONED AT ROYAL AIR FORCE ALCONBURY IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE, EAST ANGLIA, ENGLAND. FOUGHT IN THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS.
