Janice Mildred Butterfield Brewer, 89 of Junction City, AR, departed this world on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, AR and is rejoicing in the arms of her Savior. She was born January 7, 1932 in Smackover, AR, to Clarence H. Butterfield and Vada Faulkner Butterfield. She graduated from Smackover High School. She was an avid Junction City Dragon Fan, loved camping and her favorite thing was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She retired from Medical Center of South Arkansas and Junction City Medical Clinic. She is a member of Three Creeks Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Jerry Brewer of Junction City, two sons, Gary (Barbara) Mauney of Norphlet, Johnny (Linda) Brewer of Junction City, two daughters, Becky (Jay) Marks of Little Rock and Kim (Craig) Jones of Junction City, ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great grandchild due in April, and a special caregiver Jackie Payne and her special pet, Laela. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Curtis Butterfield and great grandson Mason Reid Sehon. Janice was known as “Nana” to her grandchildren and all their friends. Her home was always open to all of them. Music has always been a huge part of her life as she organized and directed the choir at First Methodist Church in Junction City for many years. Her faith in God was very evident and was never shaken throughout her long-term illness. She was an amazing wife, mother, Nana and friend. She was a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at Three Creeks Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Three Creeks Baptist Church in Junction City, AR with Rev. James Sparks and Rev. Dano Rainer officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Junction City, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.
