He is survived by his wife Mrs. Diane Cutberth Murphy; Two sons Philip Alan Murphy and Christopher A.V. Murphy both of Booneville; A daugther Emily Kaye Murphy of Booneville; His mother, Mrs. Nellie Murphy Thornton of Booneville; His step-father, Prentiss Thornton; A brother, Richard Duane Murphy of Booneville; A sister, Sheila Reeves of Booneville; Two step-sisters, Vicki Cole and Marsha Grisham, both of Booneville, his grandparents, Mr abd Mrs. Aubrey Murphy of Booneville and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bishop of Rienzi.
