Ronald Arthur Bates, age 76, lifelong New Haven resident passed on this life, January 12, 2021 in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Ronnie as most knew him was born on January 20, 1944 in Emma Twp, to the late Arthur and Margie (Dixon) Bates.

Ronnie graduated from attended New Haven Grade School and graduated high school in Ridgway. He served his country in Vietnam in the US Army. Upon coming home from the service he worked many years at JA Ag and then retired from B & W in Mt. Vernon, IN. He loved the outdoors, and avid Quail hunter and fisherman. He loved his family especially his nieces and nephews. Ronnie always had a kind word, a pleasant smile and was always polite. He had a caring heart. Ronnie was a member of the New Haven Presbyterian church and the New Have American Legion. He will be so missed by his brother, sister in law and other family.

Ronnie is survived by his brother, Mike (Jill) Bates of New Haven, nieces, Andrea Waite and Kelli (Keith) Quarles, and a nephew, Chad (Amy) Bates. Great nieces and nephews, Gannon and Preston Wargel, Griffin Quarles and Quincy and Keaton Bates.

A graveside service with military rites will be held later this upcoming spring at the Union Ridge Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his parents. The date will be announced.
