Isaac A. (Bud) Cuppy, age 77 a Johnson County farmer for about 20 years, died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs John L. Thomas, at Iowa City, after an extended illness.
Born in Shelby County, August 31, 1875 the son of Isaac and Dorcas Cuppy, he was reared in that community. He was married to Neenah Ferguson January 4, 1902. After Mrs Cuppy's death in 1947, Mr Cuppy made his home with his children. He was a member of the Welsh church, near Iowa City.
Survivors, in addition to Mrs Thomas and Leroy Cuppy of the Iowa City vicinity, include three other daughters; Mrs Belle Miles o Harlan; Mrs Grace Jensen of Osakis, Minn. and Mrs Gernele Siepmann of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and two other sons, Harold Cuppy of Davenport and Gerald Cuppy of Burlington. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs Hattie Bartlett of Council Bluffs. Two sisters, Ella and Rose, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Oathout funeral chapel, Iowa City, with the Rev. John G. Craig, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating. Burial was in Welsh Cemetery. Pallbearers were his three sons, Leroy, Harold and Gerald, and three sons-in-law, Jay Miles, John Thomas and William Siepmann.
