Steven Bryon White left this world on January 28, 2021 at The Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He was born on March 14, 1960, Pie Day, as he called it, in Willoughby, Ohio.
He was a lifelong Lake County and Cleveland, Ohio area resident before moving to Coolville, Ohio about 8 years ago. He did many jobs throughout his life, including garbage man, asbestos removal, and high rise window washer. Steve partied like it was his job. He ran the Snack Shack at the Eastlake Breakwall, where he earned the name Papa Nunu from his grandchildren.
Steve was the life of the party. He played the harmonica and any musical instrument he could get his hands on. Steve wrote beautiful poetry and he had a way with animals. He was an expert aquarist. He loved Hot Wheels, cigarettes, and a good drink. He was always hungry and could eat like an entire army of men. Steve enjoyed going fishing and driving his riding lawn mower through Coolville, to the Cool Spot, and around town to visit neighbors.
He sometimes traveled a rough road and was often his own worst enemy, even though he was very charismatic and always seemed to be able to find a friend or make a new one. He knew absolutely everybody and absolutely everybody knew him.
Steve was a devoted, unconventional, and loving father to his daughter Christina White MacCartney (Peter Breeden) and a fantastic grandfather to her three children Mac MacCartney, William MacCartney, and Hazel Breeden. He leaves behind his companion and dear friend, Polly Hedges. He is survived by his sisters, Sherry (Marty) McGeever, Cheryl White, brother Jeff (Connie) White, and honorary sister Robin Ancell (Anna Bruckman), also countless nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Faye (nee Paxton) White and brother Otis White (Gloria), and his beloved dog, Bear.
Steve's family would like to thank all of the staff at Camden Clark Medical Center for going above and beyond and providing first-class care for Steve, also for making sure that his last days were dignified and comfortable.
A gathering to celebrate Steve's life will be hosted by his family this summer, but until then, to honor and remember Steve, eat a feast, have a beer, listen to some bluegrass, go outside and look up at the stars; love your dog, be a friend to every person you meet, and don't take yourself too seriously,
