Jessie Wayne Phillips, age 74, of Brumley, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was born in California, MO, on December 31, 1946, son of the late Jessie E. Phillips and Glennis Chloe (Shelton) Phillips. On January 29, 1965, Jessie was united in marriage to Donna Keeth, who survives at their home.

Throughout their 56 years of marriage, Jessie and Donna were best friends who were blessed with two children, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, countless memories, and endless love. On June 29, 2001, Jessie was baptized by Mike Hawkins at Richland First Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member.

Jessie was a 1964 graduate of Tuscumbia High School and achieved many basketball records during his high school career. His love for sports is shared with his grandchildren and he was their biggest fan on and off the court.

In addition to his loving wife Donna, he is also survived by two children Keith Phillips (Kim) of Richland and Kim Whittle (Travis) of Iberia; three granddaughters, Sara Evans (Matt), Lacey Moore (Evan), and Jessi Whittle (Mason Schaefer), and one grandson, Jacob Whittle; five great-grandchildren, Lane, Ethan and Cooper Evans and Brooklyn and Braxton Moore; three siblings, Louie Phillips, Dale Phillips (Rebecca), and Glenda Shackleford; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mark Phillips and Lonnie Phillips; and brother-in-law, Dennis Shackleford.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Mark Tallant officiating. Interment will be held in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
