Charles J. "Sonny" Douglas III of Woburn, died peacefully January 28, 2021, at Winchester Hospital. Born and raised in Medford, Sonny was the son of the late Charles J. and Ethel M. (Doherty) Douglas. After graduating from High School, Sonny enlisted in the US Marines where he served his country proudly from 1961-1965 in Hawaii.

For over 25 years, Sonny worked as a maintenance supervisor for Jordan Marsh where he became a member of their Quarter of a Century Club. While at Jordan Marsh, he was also a member of their baseball and bowling teams. He later worked for Textron in Wilmington and then for Harte-Hanks a computer software company in Billerica, where he retired from after 10 years.

Over 20 years, Sonny hosted Ham radio shows, where he enjoyed talking across town and around the world. His call sign was “N1EDN”. He even won several awards from the AARL. Sonny was a conversationalist and had an outgoing personality. He loved talking to people about current events and just life in general. He was a great friend and someone whom you could always count on.

Dear brother of the late Geraldine "Jerry" Lathigee. Cherished uncle of Sharon of NH, Beverly and Brenda both of FL. Also survived by many loving grandnieces and nephews and his best friend Bill Kirk of Winchester.

Funeral Mass: St. Barbara's Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn.
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
