Cody Thompson was born November 16, 1990. He was a very special baby and spent his childhood in Wall Township, NJ before moving to Barnegat, NJ. He attended Wall schools and graduated class of 2010 at Wall High School; being named Prom King.

He volunteered at Ocean Medical Center and attended Dorbrook Park Family Resource and Circle of Friends. He was a fabulous dancer and enjoyed getting everyone out on the dancefloor.

He loved Facebook especially wishing everyone a “happy birthday” – never forgetting anyone. He would have loved to see all the posts from everyone about how much he was loved by all.

Cody was predeceased by his grandparents, Georgianna and John Allen, Patricia and Joseph Thompson. Cody is survived by his father, Michael Thompson of the Villages, F l. and his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Donald Lurch of Barnegat; sister and brother-in-law, Courtney and Frank Nymick of Forked River; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Val Thompson, and niece, Zoe; stepbrothers, Edward and Thomas of Barnegat, Donald Jr. of Wall, and Steven Lurch of Asbury Park; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 6-9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A funeral service will be held at 8:30PM at the funeral home. Committal will be private.

The family requests donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Circle of Friends HYDAS 402 9th Ave., Belmar, NJ 07719 or Family Resource Associates 210 Newman Springs Rd. East Red Bank, NJ 07701. In his memory, do the “hokey pokey.”
