Christopher Eugene Thompson, age 56, husband of Ginger Mayo Thompson passed away Thursday, January 28th, 2021 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. He was born February 10th, 1964 in Norfolk, VA to Carolyn VandeRiet Clayton and the late Eugene Lee Thompson, he was second born of five siblings, all of whom he loved very much. Mr. Thompson loved the Lord first and foremost and was a hard-working family man, he was a humble servant always willing to help anyone in need. He genuinely enjoyed helping Ginger with the Children’s ministry at Church on The Rock, teaching the Royal Rangers, and sharing Jesus through science as Dr. Quirkey. He was a military veteran serving in the United States Navy and Army, after which he became an Engineer with Lockheed Martin.
Other than his wife, Ginger of Berea, KY and Mother Carolyn of Chesapeake, VA he is survived by his children. Megan Thompson Deal and her husband Shawn of Springfield, MO, Courtnee Thompson Roe and her husband Anthony of Berea, KY, and Emily Thompson Brock and her husband Dallas of Berea, KY, six grandchildren, Lillee, Rylee, Emery, Aubree, Annalise, and Emmalyn, four siblings, Linette Thomson Dumouchel of Newport News, VA, Daniel Thompson and his wife Diedre of Chesapeake, VA, Rodney Thompson of Richmond, VA, and David Thompson and his wife Christina of Richmond, VA. His mother-in-law, Patricia Bryant Mayo of Berea, KY, sister-in-law, Dana Mayo Santiago and her husband David of Madrid, Spain, and brother-in-law Greg Mayo and his wife Jennifer of Richmond, KY along with many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 at Church on The Rock with Pastor Mark Sarver officiating, you may view the service live on our website at www.davisandpowellfuneralhome.com . Burial with full military honors will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY. Pallbearers will be Rodney Thompson, Daniel Thompson, David Thompson, Shawn Deal, Anthony Roe, Dallas Brock, Greg Mayo, David Santiago, and Michael Bunch.
