Gary Lee Arnold was born December 16, 1955, in Leon, Iowa to Dale Edward and Alice Mae (Boles) Arnold. He left this life on January 28, 2021, at his home surrounded by family and friends after a very brave battle with leukemia.

Gary graduated with the Class of 1975, from Grand Valley High School in Kellerton, Iowa. After graduation Gary worked for Whitfield, Inc. for two summers as well as helping his father, Dale, on the family farm off and on. He worked in Osceola, Iowa for Don Barnett at Massey Ferguson, and later Ivan VanLoon at VanLoon Implement before Simco Drilling Company of Osceola for the last 26 years. He really enjoyed his job and co-workers.

Gary was united in marriage to Bonnie Yvonne Sego on April 2, 1983. This union resulted in two daughters, Kara Marie and Meghin Chevelle. They later divorced and Gary raised both girls, never missing a sporting event or life event they ever had. Gary is a proud grandpa to four amazing grandchildren, Gavin, Jayce, Lexy (no longer with us), and Alexzander. They were his pride and joy.

Gary was an avid collector of small scale toy tractors. He enjoyed building and controlling remote controlled airplanes and cars, shooting and collecting firearms, and spending time with his girls and grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Orel and Beryl “Dorothy” (Wood) Boles and Forest and Hazel (Audlehelm) Arnold; and granddaughter, Lexy Quigley.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughters, Kara Arnold and Curtis Stowers of Osceola, Iowa and Meghin Blythe and Dave of Ellsworth, Iowa; grandsons, Gavin Quigley, Jayce Stowers, and Alexzander Blythe; brother, Randy Arnold of Grand River, Iowa; nephew, Dale Arnold of St. Louis, Missouri; and many more family and friends.

Gary was a kind, caring soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
