Billy Joe Roberts, 59, of 123 Cudd Street, Gaffney, S.C. passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at his residence.
Born in Greenville, S.C. he was the fiance’ of Sandra Harris and the son of the late Franklin Faye Messer and Betty Joyce Martin Messer.
Surviving is a brother, Charlie Messer of Dallas, N.C.; a sister, Carolyn McFalls of Gastonia, N.C.; a step-daughter, Wendy Clark and fiance’, Steve Ackers; two grandchildren, Scott Aldon Clark, Jr. (Sheilla Bennett) and Ashley Michelle Clark; three great-grandchildren, Kolten Robert Scott Ham, Scott Aldon Clark III and Allen Cooley Clark; and brother-in-law, Ralph Holcomb.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Patsy Holcomb and Teresa Melton.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Randy Funderburk officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to; Special Olympics (Gaston County), c/o Ashley Anderson, 61 Central Avenue, Gastonia, N.C., 28054.
