Sacramento, California - Henry Lloyd Moody (Hank), passed away on January 14, after a long battle with dementia. Born in Wilson, Oklahoma to Elmer Moody and Inez Taylor Moody on March 31, 1933. He grew up in Modesto, California, graduated from Modesto H.S. and Modesto Junior College. In 1952 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as a cryptographer and weather person in Kodiak, Alaska. He continued his education and graduated from Sacramento State in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. That same year he joined the Dept. of Finance as an Administrative Trainee. In 1955 he began his tenure with the CA Dept. of Health Services. In 1972 he was promoted to Chief of Rate Development Branch, he then transferred to the Audits and Investigations Branch. He was then promoted to Branch Chief of Investigations where they developed the Medi-Cal Fraud Program in charge of the Border Project. Throughout the years he was involved many projects that helped CA taxpayers with substantial savings. He retired from the Department of Health Services in 1997 after a 43 year career.
He was an avid sports fan supporting the San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers. He was a long time member of Valley Hi Country Club.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Suzan V. Moody, his step son David Boring and grandson Leland Boring. His twin brother Ernest Floyd Moody of Sacramento also survives him.
No service at this time, he will be buried at the Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
