nursing home administration led him to health care institutions across Virginia. He
became Administrator of the Holly Manor Nursing Home in Farmville, Virginia, in 1972
where he served until his retirement. In addition to his parents, Earl was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jane Alice Stewart Lee; sisters, Ruby (Basil) Castellow, Nina, Alice (Roy) Evans, and Thelma (Frank) Morris; brother, Ernest Cleveland (Myrtle) Lee, Jr., brothers-in-law, Samuel Shelton (Carmen) Stewart II and Henry Hadley Stewart, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Karen L. Clarke; son, Brian S. (Dawn) Lee; sister-in-law, Marilyn J. Stewart; grandchildren, Aaron (Kim) Lee, Cameron (Nicole) Lee, Jordan Clarke, Christopher
Clarke, and Lucy Clarke; and great-grandchildren, Teagan Lee, Emery Lee, Ruby
Quinn Lee, and Braelynn Perna; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces,
great nephews, and cousins. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staffs of Lakewood, Henrico Doctors Hospital-Forest, and Heartland Hospice Care for the care and kindness given to Earl. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation, 3961 Stillman Parkway, Glen Allen, VA 23060. The family will celebrate the lives of Earl and Jane, who passed away on May 27, 2020, at a private service, and they will be buried in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
