David S. Bauer, 57, of Johnsburg, Illinois peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home.
He was born in McHenry, Illinois on April 3rd, 1963 to Donald and Joan Bauer.
On June 18th, 1983 he married his love and best friend, Sharon Bauer with whom he had two daughters, Jessica and Jamie.
As a young man, he had a strong interest in automobiles. This led to his career at Adam's Auto Body where he worked as a body-man and estimator for 24 years.
Dave was truly the incarnation of joy and love. He effortlessly uplifted everyone around him with his big smile and witty sense of humor that remained with him even in his final days. His presence brought laughter and comfort to all those who knew him. Dave taught invaluable life lessons through the way that he lived each day. He experienced his version of heaven on earth through his favorite activities such as boating, fishing, camping, cooking, weekend getaways with Sharon, spending time with his family, and enjoying an ice-cold beer in his garage. He was someone who was content in every moment and found great pleasure in the simplest things that life had to offer. He will be missed greatly by so many, but his spirit will continue to shine through the hearts of all of his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Bauer, of 37 years, his daughters Jessica Bauer (Ben Iandola) and Jamie Bauer (Clayton Carius), his father Donald (Mary) Bauer, his three brothers Brian (Nancy) Bauer, Patrick (Mary) Bauer, Shawn (Lisa) Bauer, two sisters Anne (Tom) Kranz and Maureen (Jeff) Van Landuyt.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother Joan Bauer.
Visitation for Dave will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 2-5 P.M, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry.
Due to the current CDC Covid-19 recommendations and the immense popularity of this wonderful man, our family asks that guests be respectful and keep their visits brief in order to allow for everyone in attendance to be able to have an opportunity to show support. We ask that you please follow the designated regulations of Colonial Funeral Home.
