Moved from Michigan to Kansas with his parents in 1879. Moved in 1911 from Kansas to Noble Co, Oklahoma. April 15, 1911 purchased 160 acres NW of Perry from W.H. Queen and his wife Susan. They had bought it from Peter and Ruthey Wolfinger 14 Jun 1909. Peter had homesteaded this property (recorded April 6, 1901). L.J. moved into Perry in 1924. His son Floyd farmed the property from 1928-1942. Linford Herman was born there in 1930. Floyd sold the property to a Cecil Wallace Dec 4, 1947. At L.J.'s death he owned 4 farms in Noble County, 1 farm in Pawnee Co, and 3 properties in Perry.
