Joe E. Allen was born on September 29, 1928 in Jackson County, TN and passed away on January 28, 2021 in Hendersonville, TN at the age of 92. He was born to the late Carmack and Versie Roddy Allen and was one of five siblings. On November 4, 1955, he married Clara Mai Blair. Joe is preceded in death by his father and mother, Carmack and Versie Allen, son, Joe Timmy Allen, granddaughter Kasey Allen Doramus, grandson, Jaden Doramus, sister, Edna Jones and brother, Omer Allen. Joe is survived by his wife, Clara Mai Allen, children, Cletus (Teri) Allen, Regina (Dana) Allen Draper, Gordon Allen and Justin (Jenny) Allen, brothers, Charles (Betty) Allen and Ollie (Sue) Allen. Grandfather to 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Joe served in the United States Army and retired from Ford Glass Plant. Joe loved farming, raising his cows, and spending time with his family.

A celebration of life service for Joe will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Mark Holmes.

To reduce the risk of COVID-19, visitation for those aged 50+ will be held from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Those under 50 may attend from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens in Gallatin.
The funeral home requests those attending the visitation and/or service to please wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
