In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Pinson and two very special and loving maternal aunts and their husbands, Alma and Clifford Parsley and Juanita and Frank Foltz.

He was a longtime insurance sales representative and managed several insurance offices with Transamerica Insurance Company. Gary had managed offices in Williamson, WV, Louisville, KY, Asheville, NC, Hickory NC, and finally Kingsport, TN. Gary retired after nearly 30 years of excellent service. Over the course of his career Gary met and assisted many people with their insurance needs. He formed many lasting friendships as a result of his sincere interest in meeting the needs of those he served. He was widely known for not only the kindness he displayed to clients, but also his unwavering professional business ethics and personal integrity in handling very sensitive and personal matters for his clients.
Gary was a former member of the Bethel Temple Assembly of God where he was deeply involved in the life of the church and its various ministries. He was most impassioned about working with children involved in Royal Rangers Ministry. Working with children was a great blessing to Gary. He also enjoyed the Men’s Ministry; he loved music and often sang solos. He also enjoyed the church’s bus ministry, transporting people to and from services. After settling in Church Hill, TN, Gary and his wife, Anne, became members of the Church Hill First Baptist Church.
Gary was a sports enthusiast. He was an avid fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers. He followed the Mountaineer sports teams along with this favorite professional teams, the Packers and the Yankees. Gary’s happy place was his man-cave where he enjoyed spending time watching his favorite teams. Gary had also been an avid golfer over the years.
Gary lived as most men do when they are young, filled with hope and the dream that his life would be long, meaningful, and filed with purpose. His dreams became reality. He was deeply loved by his family as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren cherished him, saying that he was the best father and grandfather that anyone could possibly have. Gary returned the love he received in full measure. He will be sorely missed, yet forever remembered in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him as being a very good man, a man who freely gave of himself and genuinely cared for everyone. His memory is now a treasure to be cherished always.
