His obituary from the February 18, 1992 Brownsburg Guide:

Ewan Glen McClain, 80, Indianapolis, a retired teacher and principal of Avon High School, died Monday, February 10, at his home.

Born at Danville January 31, 1912, he was the son of Glen R. and Hazel (Ross) McClain.

Mr. McClain, an Army veteran of World War II, was former principal and head of the English Department at Avon High School for 40 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Avon United Methodist Church, Avon Optimist Club and Danville Masonic Lodge.

Services were Thursday, February 13, in Conkle Funeral Home, Hendricks County Chapel, Avon. Rev Tom Pitcher officated, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.

Surviving are daughter, Madeline M. Carter, Indianapolis; sister, Eleanor M. Whitmire, Indianapolis; brother, Max R. McClain, Brownsburg; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
