She was born September 24, 1933 in Lawrenceville, GA. She was the daughter of Charles Sanford Wilder, Sr and Gertrude Montgomery Wilder.
She graduated from Bethesda High School in 1950. She was a faithful member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville. She was a devoted chancel choir member and soloist for over 50 years. She was a mother of four, a homemaker and a childcare provider.
Erma is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Barnwell R. Johnson, her son D. Terry Johnson, her brother Charles S. Wilder Jr., her sister Maudine Hickman and her brother-in-law Lonnie Hickman.
She is survived by her son, Sanford R. Johnson; daughters, Trudi J. Nalley, Sheila J. Beale and son-in-law, Sam Beale, and the following Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren:
Major Michael Stanley Johnson (US Marine, retired) and Missy Johnson and their children, Reese, Chase and Evie; Andy and Sarah Johnson and their children, Lucy and Rose; Alex and Daniella Johnson and their children, Landon and Grayson Johnson, and Jackson and Peyton Pulliam; Brett and April Johnson; James and Shawna Nalley and their children, Carter and Kendall; Lt. Colonel Kelley A. Nalley (US Army) and her son Weston; Erica Beale Wright and Garrett Wright; Ally, Cinthia and Angel Beale; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Erma will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother and a sweet, caring friend to many.
A graveside service honoring the life of Erma will be held for the EXTENDED FAMILY on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville after a brief viewing and visitation beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Kidney Fund.
