Ernest Pendleton Thompson 85, of Louisville passed away, Wednesday March 27, 2019. Ernest was an Army veteran, and retired from the Civil Service Mapping Agency. His job was Cartographer for the Army Map Service (AMS), which later became the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA). His work lead to many achievement awards, including working on landing sites for the Apollo 11 moon mission and Desert Storm. Ernest was raised by his loving grandparents; Henry and Sallie Pendleton. He was met at the gates of heaven by his son David Thompson. Ernest left behind to cherish his memory, his children; Louetta Combs, Ernest Thompson the II (Samantha), Terese Nealy (Harry), his half-brother Don Brooks Thompson, half-sister Sally Beeler, also eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral service for Ernest will be held Saturday March 30, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at advantage funeral home Hardy Chapel 10907 Dixie Hwy. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Friday and Saturday from 11:00 A.M to the service time at the funeral home.
