Obituary
Last Monday death removed one of the old settlers of this township in the person of Mrs. Lasch relict of the late Daniel Lasch at the age of 81 years. 4 months and 4 days. Deceased was born in Seedorf near Main; emigrated to Canada in the year 1857 lived two years near Waterloo then settled with her husband in Peel Township, about a mile north of Yatton, on the farm now occupied by her son Paul. where she lived until her demise occurred. She was one of the few remaining. courageous and hardy settlers who braved the discomforts and the strenuous work demanded by pioneer conditions, and who did so much towards making this fine agricultural section what it now is. She was a consistent member of the Lutheran congregation at Floradale where the funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon, May 31st at two o'clock p. m. Deceased leaves five children and a number of grand-children to mourn the loss of a of a kind and self-sacrificing mother. Martha (Mrs. Dan. Axt) Linwood, Amelia. (Mrs. John Wilken), Wallace; Paul (on the homestead) and Caroline, (Mrs. Hugh Campbell) of Peel Township.
Her eldest son Ezra. died in 1900.
