Edwin C. McCleary, 31. of RD Shippenville died in an automible accident early Thursday, Aug. 24, 1978. Born May 6, 1947, in Licking Township, he was a son of Russell L. and Ola Mae Dixon McCleary. His mother survives.
Mr. McCleary was a graduate of Clarion State College and has served with the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Forestry, working out of the Sheffield office. He played on the Longhorn softball team this past year. He was a social member of the American Legion post in Clarion.
In addition to his mother who resides at DR 1 Shippenville, he is survived by three brothers, Keith L. McCleary of RD Mayport and Brad E. and Eric C. McCleary at home; two sister, Rita A. and Kimberly L. McCleary both at home, and his maternal grandmother Mrs. Helen Dixon of Clarion.
Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion with the Rev. Christopher R. Belden, assistant pastor of the Clarion Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in Miola Cemetery.
