Loretta Mae Brown, 95 of New Paris, Ohio, died Friday, January 29, 2021 in New Paris. Born on August 11, 1925 in New Paris, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Walter Charles and Cecile Dean (Brown) Coblentz. Loretta grew up in New Paris and graduated in 1943 from Jefferson Township High School. She married Donald Arthur Brown in 1948 and raised three children in New Paris. She was the loan manager for the New Paris Loan and Building Company for many years and had also worked at Eaton National Bank and John’s Super Valu. She was a lifelong member of the New Paris Church of Christ. She loved to travel with her husband and continued her travels as an active member of the Widowed Persons Organization, helping other widows to travel with Toby Tours.

She deeply loved her family, supporting and encouraging them in all their life endeavors.

Preceded in death by her Husband of 39 years: Donald Arthur Brown in 1987; Infant Daughter: Linda Jo Brown in 1949; Son: Michael A. “Mike” Brown in 2020; Siblings: Harold E. Coblentz, Frederick C. Coblentz, Doris Helen Coblentz and Verlin D. Coblentz.

Survived by her Daughter: Marilee (James F.) Fourman; Son: Tim A. (Connie) Brown; Daughter-in-law: Pamela S. Brown; Brother: Donald Coblentz; Grandchildren: Amber (Joe) Dooley, Jeff (Jessica) Fourman, Lisa (Nick) McGlothlin, Tasha (Shawn) Stephan, Danae (Steven) Farris, Kristin (Raymond) Giles; 9 Great Grandchildren, who she loved a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you are required to wear a facemask prior to entering the funeral home and practice social distancing.
