Evelyn V. Walsh, 95, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Parkview Heights Living Center, Garnett.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Moran Cemetery, Moran, Kansas.

Mrs. Walsh will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2021, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.

Evelyn was born on September 9, 1925, at Keswick, Iowa, the daughter of August and Hilda (Tanke) Siefker.

She lived most of her life in Kansas and lived twenty years in Iowa and thirteen years in West Virginia. In 2013, Evelyn returned to Kansas living in Ottawa then Garnett for the last seven years.

Evelyn attended school through the 8th grade stopping to help her parents on their farm.

She worked as a waitress in different restaurants, retiring in 2000.

Evelyn loved her family and grandchildren and the time they spent together. She was a people person, loved to travel, and enjoyed dancing and gardening.

On December 3, 1976 Evelyn was united in marriage to Eddie Smith at Wichita, Kansas. They were happily married 25 years before he preceded her in death on January 7, 2001. On June 16, 2003, Evelyn was united in marriage with Edward Walsh at Charlestown, West Virginia. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her parents August and Hilda Siefker; brothers, Roy Siefker and John Siefker and sisters, Lorna Dolen and Helen Guthry.

She is survived by son, Lowell Barnard and wife Teresa of Charlestown, West Virginia; daughter, Myrna Beachamp and husband Jeff of Richmond, Kansas; brothers, Hearold Siefker and wife of McPherson, Kansas, Elmer Siefker and wife of Moran, Kansas and Ed Siefker and wife of Houston, Texas; sisters, Inez Dimitrigivich of Wayne, West Virginia and Irene Coltrane and husband of La Harpe, Kansas; five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
