Gertrude Alice Bolton, age 88, passed away on January 24, 2021, in Island Lake, Illinois. Mum was born December 29, 1932 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. On January 24, 1953, she married Luther Y. Bolton, her husband of 30 years until his death in 1983.
Mum loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She adored and loved spending time with each and every one. Lived for having family visits for home-cooked holiday meals. Each year, dozens of friends and family would converge on her home for the family Fourth of July Reunion, a decades-old tradition.
She worked her whole career for AT&T, Bell Telephone, and is a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. In her retirement she enjoyed her book club, gardening, bridge club and family

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lou; parents David and Gertrude Anderson; siblings Patricia (Ralph) Sperber, Margaret (Orlando) Pietropaoli, Dorothy (Richard) Kaufman, David (Sheila) Anderson, James (Agnes) Anderson, Eliza Jane (Paul) Coumos.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 31, 2021, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL 60084. A funeral home service will be Monday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
